Permits and inspections are required for, but not limited to:
Accessory buildings, to include all sheds, carports, gazebos, garages, porches, etc.
Outside sprinkler systems, both residential and commercial
Roof repair/replacement (not required if only singles are replaced)
Garage, yard and estate sales
Repairs/replacement to plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems
Sign installation or replacement/upgrade
New commercial and residential construction
Additions to any structure
Renovations to any structure
Permits are required for Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical and Irrigation. All permit types are required for New Construction. Repair and remodels require permitting based on type of work being accomplished.
Obtaining a Permit
Permits are issued by the Code Enforcement Office. All permits must be paid for at City Hall by either cash, check or credit card (+ 3% processing fee for credit card).
Failure to Obtain Permits
Failure to obtain a permit increases the fee by double and you could be ordered to remove the work done.

Inspections required, but not limited to:
Flood Plain (100 Year)
Lot Coverage (sq/ft)
Building Set-Backs (property line to stucure)
Building Plans (Proffesional Engineer seal)
Plumbing Rough-In (before backfill)
Footings and Foundation (steel or post-tension)
Framing (egress, fastening, etc)
Electrical Rough-In (notching and boring walls, GFCI, AFCI, etc.)
Certificate of Occupancy (granted after all requirements are met)
Obtaining a Inspection
You can contact us via our inspection line at 254-897-9373 or via our main office line at 254-897-2272 option 5 to schedule an inspection. At this time we are trying to accomodate inspections within 1/2 hour (30 minutes), but times may vary depending on work load.
Failure to schedule for Inspection
Failure to schedule required inspections with the Building Official can prevent issuance of Certificate of Occupancy and may require removal and rework of said work.
